Mission Statement:

As the most significant and important person in your child’s life, this information is provided to you in an effort to assist you and your family in meeting the varied needs of your child.  This information is intended to be used as a springboard and obviously should not be viewed as all-inclusive.  Each child is a unique star and sometimes families need help in making that star shine bright.  Families who care for a child with emotional challenges experience a unique situation.  Oftentimes, parents experience a variety of different feelings, including: isolation, guilt, anger and fear regarding the child’s potential success in life.  With the stresses of modern times, emotional issues are a commonplace occurrence at some point in a person’s life.  The emotional issue, in and of itself, does not predispose the person to a specific end.  Rather, the manner in which the person copes with the challenge is what may determine the person’s success.  M-DCPS hopes to empower all students and parents in striving to reach their fullest potential.
