The Miami-Dade Transition Task force is actively involved in a number of statewide projects:

Project CONNECT
bulletincrease agencies' meaningful participation in students' Transition Individual Educational Plan (TIEP) meetings
bulletExpand community transition teams
bulletdevelop an interagency agreement of memorandum of understanding, identify and incorporate information about barriers and potential solutions to interagency collaboration generated by focus groups
bulletexpand implementation of recommended transition practices and the range of transition services (such as self-determination, on-the-job training, community-based instruction, supported employment, independent living, community access including transportation, etc.)
bulletenhance student success in achieving their desired post-school outcomes, including independent living, employment, postsecondary education or training, leisure and recreational pursuits, and community access.
Hiring Practices Initiative (HPI)
bulletincrease the number of individuals and students with disabilities,  including students with developmental disabilities, being employed within M-DCPS
bulletidentify and increase awareness of barriers and promising practices to employment of persons with disabilities
bulletfacilitate systems change through the identification and implementation of needed policy changes and creation or improvement of employment programs
