Message from Instructional Supervisor,
Dr. Deborah Finley

The Division of Exceptional Student Education is honored to present information about our services.  Speech and language services offered by Miami-Dade County Public Schools are integrated into program curriculum and classroom activities.  The development of age-appropriate speech and language skills is essential to the learning process and to a student's social emotional growth.  Children must be able to comprehend the language, express their thoughts, request explanations from the teacher and produce speech which others can easily understand.  All Miami-Dade County Public Schools speech-language pathologists hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Learning Association or certification from the Florida Department of Education.
